MarginKeeper — Privacy Policy
MarginKeeper ("the app") helps Shopify merchants monitor the shipping rates their checkout offers. This policy explains what data the app processes and why.
Data we process
The app reads the store's product catalog (titles and variants) so merchants can build test carts, reads the store's Markets (countries) to suggest destinations, and publishes the chosen products to its own sales channel so it can create simulated carts through Shopify's Storefront API. For each simulated cart it stores the destination, the products, and the delivery options Shopify returned (names and prices). It stores the merchant's alert preferences (an optional webhook URL and email address).
Data we do NOT collect
MarginKeeper stores no customer personal data: no names, emails, addresses, payment details, order records, or identifiers of any kind. Simulated carts use a placeholder name and street address and are never checked out — no order is ever created. No cookies, no tracking.
Data retention and deletion
Run history is kept for the period included in the merchant's plan and pruned automatically. Uninstalling the app pauses all monitoring immediately, and all stored data for the shop is permanently deleted in response to Shopify's shop redaction webhook.
Third parties
If a merchant configures a webhook URL, alert digests (destination, cart label, rate change) are sent to that URL. No data is sold or shared otherwise.
